At the conclusion of Stage 2, there will be two (2) teams remaining. Game Match Objective: Players will compete by playing the videogame Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Vegas on the Microsoft Xbox 360™ platform in an online match via the Microsoft XBox Live® Gold service.
Stage 1 and Stage 2: Each match will consist of two (2) teams of four (4) players each, using game modes “Retrieval” and “Team Survival.” Each match will consist of at least two (2) “Games,” and each “Game” will consist of two (2) “Rounds.” In the first Game, the two teams play 2 rounds using game mode “Team Survival”, switching sides each round. For the next Game, the teams play 2 rounds of “Retrieval,” again switching sides each round. Each Round won counts as one (1) point. The host of the game also changes between Games. If, at the end of Games 1 and 2, there is no clear winner (i.e. it is a 2-2 tie), the teams continue to play full Games (as defined above), alternating between “Team Survival” and “Retrieval” mode until one (1) team has won by two (2) Rounds. The Tournament Producer will decide the maps to be used during each match, which will be indicated on the “Match Details” page on the tournament website. Stage 1 and Stage 2 will be a SINGLE-ELIMINATION BRACKET-FORMAT CONTEST. Once a team has lost a match, the losing team is then out of contention for any additional game match play.
Stage 3: The remaining two (2) teams will be broken up into eight ( individual competitors. The players will play four (4) consecutive free-for-all rounds of “Sharpshooter,” with six (6) players in each round (three from each of the original teams, rotated each round so that each player plays in three of the four rounds). The player with the highest cumulative point total across the four rounds will win the Grand Prize, with the remaining prizes going to the next three highest point totals, in descending order. Should there be a tie after the four rounds, then the tied players will compete in 5 minute tie-breaker rounds, eliminating any player who is not still tied for the lead at the end of the round, until only one player remains.
